Encounter Cancel and VIT gauge
WILD ARMS® Alter code: F™ uses the same system as the previous WILD ARMS® series that allows the player to avoid unnecessary battles and the “VIT (vitality) gauge,” which automatically restores characters’ HP.
Encounter Cancel System
This system is activated when the “Migrant Seal” item is obtained. When a monster is detected around the character, an “!” mark is displayed above the character’s head. Pressing X button while the “!” mark is displayed, lets the party avoid the battle. Also, the ENC gauge is displayed at the left top of the screen. Each time a battle is cancelled, the amount is subtracted from the ENC gauge. When the gauge reaches 0, the party cannot cancel a battle until the gauge is refilled.
In other words, canceling battles against strong enemies will significantly decrease the gauge and canceling battles against weak enemies does not decrease the gauge.
This system allows the player a convenient way to avoid unwanted battles and to judge how strong monsters are in a dungeons by checking how much the gauge decreases after canceling a battle once.
Types of “!” marks:
| White: |
Canceling the battle is possible, but the ENC gauge is decreased after canceling. |
| Green: |
Canceling the battle is possible, and the ENC gauge is not decreased. |
| Red: |
Canceling the battle is not possible because the gauge is low or it’s a surprise attack. |
 |
*Restoring the ENC gauge: Obtaining a "White Gem" restores 1 point to the ENC gauge. |
VIT gauge
The VIT gauge automatically restores characters’ HP after battle. This prevents the player from automatically restoring the characters’ HP after every battle. The VIT gauge can be restored 1 point by obtaining an “Orange Gem.”
Short Novel “Witch”
WILD ARMS® Alter code: F™ has a cool sub-quest, which consists of collecting a series of short novels. Collect the short novels from all over Filgaia and bring them to the Curan Abbey library to enjoy the full story of, “Witch.”
Mariel’s “Gardening System”
Items, such as Heal Berries and Force Carrots, can be obtained while adventuring, but Mariel can also grow them for you. Take an item from your possessions and plant it in her garden, and Mariel will grow it for you!
